Rights of Quran
The five rights of the Qur’an (or the duties a Muslim owes to the Qur’an) are as follows:
Belief in the Qur’an – To believe with certainty that the Qur’an is the true word of Allah, revealed to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, and preserved without change.
Recitation of the Qur’an – To regularly recite it correctly, observing proper pronunciation (Tajwid) and with respect.
Understanding the Qur’an – To strive to understand its meanings, teachings, and guidance through study and reflection.
Acting upon the Qur’an – To live by its teachings, follow its prohibitions, and implement its principles in daily life.
Spreading and Teaching the Qur’an – To convey its message to others, teach it, and encourage others to read and follow it.
May Allah swt enable us to fullfill the above rights according to our capacity. Ameen
قرآن مجید کے پانچ بنیادی حقوق ہیں
اس پرایمان لانا
اس کی تلاوت کرنا
اس کو سمجھنا
اس پر عمل کرنا
اس کی آفاقی دعوت کو دوسروں تک پہنچانا۔
قرآن کے ان حقوق کی ادائیگی کیلئے کوشش کرنا ہر مسلمان کی زندگی کا مشن ہونا چاہئے۔
اللہ تبارک و تعالیٰ سے دعا ہے کہ وہ ہمیں اپنی انفرادی اور اجتماعی زندگی میں قرآن مجید پڑھنے، اس کی تعلیمات کو سمجھنے، اس پہ عمل کرنے اور اس کو دوسروں تک پہنچانے کی توفیق عطا فرمائے۔ آمین
Manners of Recitation
تلاوت قرآن کے آداب
Allah swt said in the Holy Quran:
الَّذِينَ آتَيْنَاهُمُ الْكِتَابَ يَتْلُونَهُ حَقَّ تِلَاوَتِهِ أُولَٰئِكَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِ
Those to whom We have given the Book recite it with its true recital — they are the ones who truly believe in it.” (2:121)
The Prophet ﷺ said:
افضل عبادة امتي قراءة القرآن
The best act of worship of my Ummah is reading Qur'an. (Bayhaqi 1865)
Following are the basic A'daab (Manners) of Recitation:
1. Purification and Cleanliness
Perform Wudu (ablution) before touching the hard copy of Qur'an. Ritual purity is recommended before recitation.
2. Proper Intention (Niyyah)
Recite with the sincere intention of seeking Allah’s pleasure and guidance, not for show off or worldly recognition.
3. Respect for the Qur’an
Hold and place the Mushaf (hard copy of Qur’an) respectfully, never on the floor or in unclean places.
Begin recitation with Tawuz and Tasmia by saying:
أَعـوذُ بِاللهِ مِنَ الشَّيْـطانِ الرَّجيـم
(I seek refuge with Allah from the accursed Satan)
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِ
(In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate).
4. Correct Pronunciation (Tajwid)
Recite clearly and melodiously, following the rules of tajwīd to ensure proper pronunciation.
6. Recite with Focus and concentration
Recite with khushū‘ humility, concentration and focus).
7. Consistency
Make recitation a regular practice, even if it’s a small portion each day.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
احب الاعمال الی اللہ ادومھا وان قل
The most beloved deeds to Allah are those that are done regularly, even if they are small. (Bukhari)
8. Listening Respectfully
When the Qur’an is recited by others, listen attentively and remain silent. Listening Qur'an also has a reward.
Dua for memorisation:
ربِّ اشْرَحْ لي صَدري و یَسِّرْ لی أمری و احْلل عُقدةً مِنْ لساني یَفقَهوا قَوْلی
آداب تلاوت
الَّذِينَ آتَيْنَاهُمُ الْكِتَابَ يَتْلُونَهُ حَقَّ تِلَاوَتِهِ أُولَٰئِكَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِ
وہ لوگ جنہیں ہم نے کتاب دی ہے وہ اس کی تلاوت کرتے ہیں جیسے تلاوت کا حق ہے، وہی لوگ اس پر(سچا) ایمان رکھتے ہیں۔ (البقرہ۔121)
:سیدنا نعمان بن بشیر رضی اللہ عنہ روایت فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہﷺ نے فرمایا
افضل عبادة امتي قراءة القرآن
میری امت کی افضل عبادت تلاوت قرآن ہے۔ (البیھقی فی شعب الايمان: 1865)

ترتیل اور ٹھر ٹھرکرتجوید کے ساتھ پڑھنا
عمل کی نیت
اپنے رب سے ہم کلامی
قرآن مجید کی تلاوت سننا بھی باعث ثواب ہے۔
تلاوت کے بعد دعا قبول ہوتی ہے۔
دعا برائے حفظ
ربِّ اشْرَحْ لي صَدري و یَسِّرْ لی أمری و احْلل عُقدةً مِنْ لساني یَفقَهوا قَوْلی۔
یاد رکھیئے! تلاوت و تجوید قرآن ایک فن اور ہنر ہے اس کو بغیر استاد کی رہنمائی اور مشق کے نہیں سیکھ سکتے۔ قرآن کی تلاوت سیکھنے کیلئے ماہر قاری کی رہنمائی ضروری ہے۔
